DIXON MORISSEAU

Music COMPOSER

Dixon Morisseau is a first generation Haitian-American film composer based in New York City. Originally from Brooklyn, New York- Dixon grew up in a musical family. He was greatly influenced by his uncles, Gashford Guillaume, founder of the Afro-Haitian jazz band, Mozayik, and Dickson Guillaume, director of the New York State Interdenominational Haitian Mass Choir; but, it was the works of Robert Glasper, Taku Iwasaki, and the Danish String Quartet that really captivated, & inspired him to score pieces for meaningful moments on & off screen. Ethereal, & thought-provoking, his music reflects his international palette.

Graduating with a B.A in Music from York College/ CUNY, Dixon began to develop his craft in film scoring. Some of his scores can be found on projects such as Lock Down Love, a feature film on Amazon Prime, Ovals: I Don't Want to Love Myself, a short film on YouTube, and Urban Ninja, a web-series also on YouTube.  Dixon's compositional skills have also allowed him to write string arrangements for Grammy award winning artist, Victory Boyd.  Dixon has received his M.Mus in Film Scoring through Berklee Online.
